Cliff Graham is a former soldier and officer in the United States Army who now spends his time writing, speaking, and operating a growing series of media franchises. A graduate from Black Hills State University with degrees in political science and military science, he wrote his Lion of War series while working as a youth pastor, and he now speaks to churches, men's groups, and conferences everywhere. Armed and Ready for a Battle that Counts

With one foot in the military and the other in youth ministry, Cliff Graham speaks with authority on the process of turning feckless boys into "warrior" men who know Jesus for who he is and who have character that can withstand cultural assault. With humor and insight, Graham groups teen boys into categories such as "moody musician," "philosopher," knucklehead," and "melting pot" and instructs parents in the art of moving their boys toward a genuine faith in Christ. Great insight

Teens today have enough bad influences and chances to go down the wrong path. They need more of us who are willing to show them who Jesus is and who He is calling us to be. Boys need to allowed to be boys; how Father created them. They are not meant to sit down and be quiet. They are rambunctious, rowdy, loud, adventurous, risk takers, pioneers.... Acting all saved and all serious will get them nowhere but closed off to us. We need them to know we do care about them and care about showing them who they really are. We all need help. All men need another man to put their arm over their shoulder and make sure they know we have their back. Teaching them in the early teen years to be men, to live and fight like men and gives them a fighting chance. Cliff really gives great insights on how to reach them and at the same time allow them to be who they are created to be.

Pretty decent book

I purchased this book after reading Cliff Grahams "Day of War" and was pretty pleased with this book as well. Cliff gives some very good insights for parents and leaders alike on how to deal with different personality types within the youth ministry environment. It gives very good ideas and tips on how to interact with youth and call them to the duty of being real men and women for Jesus Christ. The only drawback to the book in my opinion is the way in which he typecasts many different students. While usually true, you cannot always approach certain types of students in the same manner.
